Mikelle's Heroics

Howdy all!

Russell here again.  Mikelle is asleep, so I get to hijack her blog AGAIN.  I was in a training this week that helped me have a bit of an a-ha moment.  I can't even remember now what we were talking about at the time in training, but the insight is well worth it.

Mikelle is pretty stellar.  I watched her Wednesday night as she was going through homework with Felicity.  She is helping Felicity to work through everything and learn so much.  I know it wasn't a one-time event.  Felicity is smart because of Mikelle.  She is an incredible mom and a gift in our lives.  We love you Mikelle!

Reboot!

Howdy Everybody!

It is Russell here today.  Mikelle stumbled through here yesterday and left the page open.  I miss reviewing her stories and pictures of the adventures with our family.  (She is pretty awesome.)  I am going to encourage here to pick it up again.  Email her, text her, whatever, but I feel that you ought to encourage her too!

Moving forward

This week along with Detroit changing to the crib he figured out how to get up on his knees and rock he now scoots his knees up by his hands but doesn't have moving his hands forward yet so he will just fall on his head to move!!!

Same room

Well I feel that my baby isn't quite a baby anymore because he is beginning to get his knees up and rock I suspect he will be crawling anytime now. We also bought Felicity a toddler bed and put the side back on the crib for Detroit yesterday. This makes me so sad why do they have to grow so fast? I'm having anxiety about not having him in our room and them in the same room I really don't want him to wake her up! He has taken naps in the crib but last night after he had been asleep in the crib and woke up to eat he would NOT go back to sleep!! After trying normal things that usually work to put him back asleep but trying to let Russ get some sleep because he has not been feeling great this week Detroit and I ended up sleeping on the living room floor around 3... Nights like this with felicity I would just turn on her music and let her cry her self to sleep I just can't seem to get myself to do that when they are in the same room so he is back in our room tonight and just let him cry it out. Why am I having so much anxiety them in the same room? I don't know. I don't know what to do! I want and need him out of the bassinet because I want my room arrangement I used to have a he is past the weight recommend HE IS SO HEAVY! 22 pound at 7 months heavy!! He is sure going to take after his daddy in being a big and tall guy! :)

6 months old

His new favorite things at 6 months old are:
-Sitting up but still tips over
Sippy cup of water and also thinking he can drink out of a regular cup!!!
- rolling around grab toys with felicity which of course doesn't think that it's fun at all! but he doesn't even trying to push up his knees .
- what I call baby crunches because he looks like he tries to sit up.
-Sleeping in his high chair when it's tilted back.
- snuggling with mom in the middle of the night!!
